There is no single religion in Indonesia that allows the practice of illegal gratification by law. Starting from good habits that apply in society, gift giving can develop into unlawful behavior. It can be said that if the recipient is a civil servant and an official because it is related to the position and contrary to his duties. However, this prohibited practice of gratification can occur when the community or businessmen also take the initiative to give. For example, giving thank you money after obtaining an ID card or providing a gift after winning a tender in the government. So, both parties need to get a balanced understanding of the prohibition of gratification, especially from a religious perspective. With the publication of the book Gratification in a Religious Perspective, readers are invited to explore the prohibition of the practice of gratification properly from the perspective of the five religions in Indonesia.
